Capitol Club Tower was announced by two small local developers in May of 2007. It is to be built on the site of the former Lansing City Club and adjacent three floor building, it would also include the purchase and rehab of the S Grand Parking Ramp, subject to voter approval. The statistics and rendering above reflect the 12 floor version of the project. The developers have said the project may be up to 20 floors and 200 or more units and may or may not include commercial space and a gym. This is the first proposed residential high rise in Lansing since Lansing Towers were built in the 1960’s and the very first condominium tower in the area.
The city is requiring the developer to spend a minimum of $250,000 rehabbing the facade of the ramp, on both the east and west sides. The developer is also required to convert the ground floor of the ramp to commercial space.
