    Accident Fund Insurance Co. announced that the former Ottawa Power Station would be rehabbed into their new headquarters. They plan to change the entire area around the building, with the building and adjacent property becoming a campus like facility. The plans include:

  • Renovating the Ottawa Station into 160,000 sq ft of class A office space
  • Constructing a 120,000 sq ft class A office building next to the Ottawa Station
  • Constructing a 1,000+ space, city-owned parking garage on the northern edge of the site
  • Constructing a 20 ft wide public park along the river between Ottawa & Shiawassee
  • Removing the cooling towers from the Ottawa Station and relocating them to Allegan & Pine
  • Demolishing the portion of the N Grand Parking ramp that goes over the street
