One more because I like Boji in the shot.

  • It's disappointing that such a prime spot of real estate got such a small building, but it is still better than the parking lot that it replaced.
  • Nice progress, I haven't been able to get by there for a couple weeks now.
  • Here are two shots of the building when viewed from a couple blocks away

  • I drove by again, today, got a better look of the project, and I'm convinced after seeing the hooks in the block walls that this is simply the frame from which the actual facade will hang.
  • Just FYI, I was by the building yesterday and they had just started to put up a little brick on the Kalamazoo St side.

  • It may not be as large as some people would like but its not bad either. Like Jared said quite a while back, its better than the parking lot it replaced. It can still look pretty imposing from the street level and if it looks anything like the renderings when finished I think it'll be pretty good when complete.

There really is nothing wrong with the building. At least, that's never been a criticism of mine. The location is perhaps the worst location they could have picked for the special needs of a police headquarters, particularly considering all of the huge state-owned-and-operated lots on the west side of downtown where this could have gone and still had room for things like the helipad that's going to have to be moved to some other location.
