Here are two videos announcing the winner and a fly-through of the interior. It looks like it will be opening to the east, which is nice to see, since this is on the the east end of downtown East Lansing
I think that the design is horrible. It means that this new museum will go unnoticed just like the current one. I think it's really really plain and boring. And with this design chosen I can say I don't care about this project either way anymore.
I like it, or at least I like the pics of it that I've seen so far. It looks like a design that stands out a little from the area around it without being something that will be totally ugly within a few years. I will say it looks better in the aerial view though. :-)
From the City Pulse: A second chance at ‘Picasso?’ MSU unveils Broad Museum design. Looking at this, it sure would have been nice if in the 1980's, the Wharton Center was planned for Grand River Ave. It would definitely make the commercial district a little more diverse on Grand River Ave.
