The Michigan State Police Headquarters was origionally proposed in 2002 as a joint headquarters with the Department of Military & Veterans Affairs. It was planned to be over 400,000 sq ft and cost over $100 million. Since then, Military & Veterans Affairs has pulled out and the project significantly downsized to just 150,000 sq ft and $45 million. The origional proposal also included a parking ramp, the current one only inlcudes 150 spaces of surface parking.
